Stephen Dewave Peace has been hailed as “a formidable musical force” both in the studio and on stage, earning recognition as an exceptional bassist, guitarist, arranger, and producer. Displaying notable talent at a young age, Stephen gravitated toward electric guitar and bass around the age of ten. Recognizing his natural musical ability, his parents encouraged him to pursue his early interests. Throughout grade school and high school, he steadily developed his skills, participating in concert and jazz bands while earning accolades, including recognition in Who’s Who Among American High School Students. Performing under his birth name, Stephen Williams, he began his professional journey with the group Your Kinda People, appearing at venues such as Disneyland.
During the vibrant music era of the 1980s, Stephen focused on pop and rock in professional settings while continuing his formal musical training at the University of Redlands.
In the years that followed, he relocated to the Albuquerque, New Mexico area, where he became a respected and in-demand musician. Known for his adaptability, Stephen performed across a wide range of genres, including soul, gospel, R&B, and rock. Whether in the studio or on stage, his musicianship has been sought after throughout the Southwest.
Today, Stephen Dewave Peace continues to perform, produce, and arrange music with a diverse array of artists across multiple genres.
